Accolades for Florida Schools
Florida has great technical schools, colleges and universities for veterans to start or continue their education. In 2017, U.S. News and World Report
named Florida the “Best State for Higher Education,” recognizing the state’s significant achievements in areas including graduation rates, low debt at graduation, and tuition and fees. Three Florida schools were among the top 25 in Military Times
’ 2016 Best for Vets Colleges ranking—University of South Florida, St. Petersburg College and Florida State University. And University of North Florida was named "Military Friendly School" by GI Jobs Magazine.

Florida’s institutions of higher learning not only offer a high-quality education across numerous specialties but also an extraordinary level of support for veterans. The schools feature Veterans resource centers geared to ensuring the academic and social success of veterans, and to helping them take full advantage of their GI Bill benefits. Many of the schools are located in veteran-friendly communities and also have a student body that comprises a large number of veterans.
