Orlando-based trucking company CPG Enterprises receives FL VETS Business Training Grant to hire and train 30 veterans.

On February 17, 2016, Veterans Florida awarded CPG Enterprises, an Orlando based trucking company, $79,849.95 through the FL VETS Business Training Grant Program to hire and train 30 new veterans. This is the first grant awarded by the new program.

CPG Enterprises, an Orlando based trucking company, seeks to hire 30 veterans. Since their start up in 2004, CPG Enterprises has seen a tremendous increase in growth and customer satisfaction. To ensure the needs of their clients are met at the most exceptional level, Office Manager, Jossie Cano recently began his hunt for hardworking, dedicated, and reliable individuals to become members of his team. Jossie knows that veterans could be a valuable asset to his company after serving 4 years in the Marine Corps.

“I heard of the FL VETS Business Training Grant Program through CareerSource Central Florida and immediately applied for the program. Being a Marine Corps Veteran myself, I understand what values and dedication Veterans can bring to the team. Within a few days of submitting my application I had a conversation with their staff to discuss my company’s hiring needs. Shortly after, they approved the grant and will help me advertise my job openings so that I can find a team of veterans who fit my exact criteria. It was quick, easy, and made my search much easier. I am honored to have such hardworking individuals become a part of our team. There is no one more deserving than these brave men and women,” said CPG’s, Jossie Cano.

“Veterans make great employees,” says Bobby Carbonell, Veterans Florida’s Executive Director. “CPG Enterprises knows that veterans have leadership skills, are timely, team players, pay attention to detail and learn quickly. This grant will allow their businesses to combine these traits with customized skill training to meet the business’s specific needs. Smart companies like CPG Enterprises know hiring veterans is not only the right thing to do but good for the bottom line.”
